ClownGround Budapest
Monthly play sessions for adults.
These monthly workshops are an invitation to pause, reconnect with what’s alive in you—your playfulness, honesty, and lightness—and explore the art of clowning from the very beginning.
It’s not about “acting the clown” to entertain others, but about daring to be yourself. In a safe and supportive space, we play, move, laugh with tenderness, unleash creativity, and connect with others, sharing what’s alive in the moment.
Through games, movement, improvisation, voice work, and laughter, we’ll explore:
- How to awaken your inner clown and reconnect with your inner child
- The key principles of clowning, including presence, authenticity, vulnerability, curiosity, and complicity with the audience
- The clown's unique way of thinking and basic clowning techniques, with a strong emphasis on taking risks and celebrating failure
No previous experience is needed – just a willingness to play!
The classes are for everyone who wants a fresh look at themselves and the world.

Workshop facilitator: Marietta Adok
Marietta is a teacher, florist, and clown. She has been studying clowning for 4 years, having completed a two-year course at the Baross Imre Circus School and currently pursuing her BA at the Budapest Circus Arts and Contemporary Dance College. She has facilitated numerous female and inclusive dance sessions over the past 15 years.
Recently, she also began sharing her clowning with children and audiences at schools and community events.
Passionate about flowers and dance, she is exploring ways to weave all her interests into her artistic practice. For her, the clown is a deeply human figure—an honest and better version of ourselves.
